she's here!!!!

chewy is here...see more pics here ! she's sooo cute but then again aren't puppies the cutest! she's very big and playful and loves the other dogs even tho the siberian's screeching nearly scared her to death! and the german...well he's stoic at best but not growly so an improvement over his usual disposition when faced with a threat to his place on the food chain (he's already on the bottom) and his place in my heart (the top)! and as soon as chewy growled and barked and howled at the siberian she settled down and faced the fact that puppies just can't be intimidated by bratty huskies! so our first meeting went well and we'll surely have another this weekend when the grandaughter comes over. she's been waiting and waiting and waiting to meet this little girl! i hear they call her chewy bear! later, love g

p.s. oh yea and the guy took like three little movies of this girl growling at the siberian and wrestling a stick and falling over herself but i deleted them from my files thinking they were out of focus pics! i'll get them later tho and the veteran can see em!

you're never too old...

to fly out of a tree! we had another fun filled weekend. and not just last nite when we ate thai food and went to see "little miss sunshine" at the manor. it's a hit so don't be a fool and miss this one. i cried i tell you, cried i laughed so hard. it was hillarious and hysterical and fun. a definate thumbs up! so back to the flying part, me and the guy and friends kathy and phil rented kayaks and paddled down the yough today. when i spotted this rope hanging out of a tree the kid in me couldn't pass it by. yep that's me flying out of that tree, and it was fun! we were already soaked to the skin from getting caught in some pretty hard rain so i figured why not. right about now i can think of one good reason...i smell like the river! ta ta gotta go shower. later, love g

i love the smell of...

clorox in the morning! this is what the guy is doing this morning. this yucky mildew on the eaves is the price we pay for a lovely shady spot in our back yard. the trees make shade which makes moisture which makes mildew which means that the only way to kill it is CLOROX so the guy is on the roof with a mask, clorox, a compressor and a gun thingy that uncle dave gave him and soon the eaves willl be sparkly white agian and only in need of paint! but that's another project! hmm wonder what the veteran is doing later this year??? the dogs are locked inside with me and i'm supposed to be cleaning the inside of the house but here i sit playing around with my camera and taking pictures of my new sweater in progress!!! it's a neutral color as you can see. i call it antique yellow, rowan all seasons cotton, a blend of cotton and poly i think. it should hold it's shape. this will be a cropped sweater, bolero style shaping in the front with a wide knitted lace border, one from nicky epstein's "on the edge". the border will be on the sleeve edge and the entire edge of the sweater in lieu of ribbing. i think it may have a button, or maybe not, who knows what mood i'll be in when i finish! oooh gotta go the guy is jumping on the roof which must me he needs me for something! ok i'm back now, i knit most of this while the guy was in the operating room swallowing tubes to stretch his esophogus to accomodate food which reminds me we have another date to do more of the same and i have to get a mindless knitting project ready to go. i assure you it will not be the lace border of this sweater, lace is not mindless, for me anyway! how about some knee socks in blue and mauve stripes made of cotton stretch yarn. i ordered lots of that when i made the lacey knitted socks from ik and the blue would coodinate with my new blue frye boots! yep i finally bought me some frye harness boots, been lusting after them since my baby brother bought his harley many moons ago. his fryes were the obligatory black of course and he wears them to this day, even tho the harley is long gone, wears them with a suit if he ever has the occasion to wear a suit! or...i do have a pair of socks started that i could continue with or...i have more regia self patterning yarn in blue for socks for the guy. and...there's the purple, well really lavender, alpaca i have for a scarf for moi... lots to do! good thing it's the knitting season! and speaking of knitting...ATTENTION ALL SEXY KNITTERS!!! tick tock time's a wastin' and it is now time to vote for the september sexy knit pattern! NOW! later, love g

it's friday again...

and what a relief! this week i didn't spend so much time at work but still i sure am glad it's over. wishing my life away one week at a time! monday was call off day and a bike ride to the castleman river where we saw no suitable place to put a canoe in the water but where i did see this little guy. what color huh? dragonflies they are quite prevalent near our rivers! and quite pretty as well! there were two or three of these little ones flitting about but it was quite hard for me to capture them in detail unless they were sitting still and even then, not so great. new camera coming right up! tuesday the guy went under the influence of anethesia and then drank barium and now has plans for another similar day next week! well that wasn't the news he wanted to hear i tell you. but you do what you have to. me and the nephew did a little shopping last nite. just for old times sake, you know he and i have been shoe shopping for most of his sixteen years! it became a tradition when, a few years ago, he wanted some certain type of shoe for his birthday so we went malling to find it and the rest is history. we usually have dinner and a shoe shop at least once a year! this year we left out the dinner and went to the mall as we had more than shoes to shop for. madden 2007 is out man you gotta get that before it too late! so we did some shoe shopping then video game store shopping then clothes shopping because school is right around the corner for him, tuesday it starts, then we called it a night! boy have times changed. i remember when he was in between a boys and a mens shoe size and we walked the mall for hours trying to find timberland boots! now he's a healthy size 10.5 and has the height to match! whew taller every day! and driving soon too, permit is just around the corner and hopefully aunt gay will be taking him out for a few drives to reach his goal of 50 hours of drive time! i haven't done that for a long while! so my birthday shopping is done til november, when i buy myself a camera, the food shopping is done, the laundry is done, tomorrow we have a few things to do around the outside of the house and the weekend is ours to enjoy. i think i'll go clean the tub and vacuum the floor so i'll be ready for tomorrow, after i sleep in first! later, love g

bob dylan, a girl, and her coach...

and me and the guy, we were all at falconi stadium last nite. bob dylan of course was the star. me and the guy, we were just there to have the time of our lives! what fun! what great sounds! dylan is not old news, he's new news and the tons of teen age girls and guys in attendance was telling. one young teen was gushing when she bumped into her old high school coach "oooh you used to coach me, and you're here and i'm here and my dad is here !!!" he looked surprised too and then he said "i proposed to you?" "noooo you coached me!" well maybe after all the loud music right next to the stage and the beer and the contact high coached sounds sort of like proposed huh? anyway, gone is the nasally whine the son-in-law does so well. bob, he's grown into his voice and he was quite the veteran entertainer. how does it feel to hear bob dylan himself sing all along the watchtower? like we were in the presence of an icon and we were but we were in the presence until 11:00pm then in the presence of traffic and then on the highway home for 45 minutes so we didn't get to see our own eyelids until well after midnite, way too late for us old folks. can you say call off work today? well, that's what personal days are for! and for bike rides on beautiful sunny mild temperature days! today was for fun, tomorrow is for something else though...we have a date with the doc at 5:00 am! in the morning! well that's really the good news, that means we won't be there delayed for hours behind every emergency that comes along. so tomorrow is for doctoring and for knitting in the waiting room! oh and look at me at spc, i'm really famous now!!! see ya after all this and that. later...love g

i've had a weeks worth of those...

horrible days. really. i can't even begin to describe. there was all the travel and the training and the traffic and the public transportaion and the nausea and the sheer exhaustion and the nit nit nit pic pic picking! i'm better now, we had a great weekend. the greek festival was in town, the fireworks were as well, we had a day trip to the leather shop to pick up the new mustang saddle and where new riding boots were found (they fit and feel great), went to a new tack shop in the back hills of ellwood city, visited an old stomping ground of the guy's (a cool little fishing lake), and walked the halls of a great castle with huge boulders and dragons and armour! and ate and ate and knitted too. i finshed my new creation "girly" i love it, the color, the buttons, the lace, verrrry girly! thus the name, see more pics on fashion statements. i started another for fall! i'm loving it so far. so here's the new creation and the new saddle!!! we are mustang sal and sally! the new self portrait challenge pic has been added, the camera cards have been cleared, blogs have been blogged and now i gotta go get my concert going outfit ready cause we're off blowin in the wind to see bob dylan at falconi stadium so i'll be seeing you later! love...g

good god what a horrible day i've had...

make that a horrible week. i hate it man i hate living with all this negativity! i am un motivated to do anything creative and it's weighing me down. casual friday has turned into dreaded horrifying friday! i need a new job, or a new supervisor or a new life! or is it just the damn full moon??? the bruise on my arm is from the dogs...i'm guessing. later love...g

casual friday again...

but i had no one to play with today! both of the electric light girls were off and after m. gave me these lovely home grown vegetables (mmm stuffed peppers for the guy and rubard pie at mom's house) he left for the day too. so i worked for 7.5 hours practically alone (and on the same case actually) ah the miracles of modern software! have a nice weekend, you won't see me till next week i'm sure! later...love g

ok so i'm gay...

you think you're the first person to say that? cousin david thinks my idea of fringe on the handle bars of the new royal star is very gay and or girlie. well i am gay so i can take liberties i think! and i think it's cool. as i think these new riding boots are cool! ok so they're not riding boots. do you believe i didn't even know what chuck taylor 's were until a month ago. i was reading wendy's blog a while back and she talked about knitting a skirt to be worn with chuck taylor's and all i could think of is what the heck are chuck taylor's. so i looked it up and that's the only reason i knew the correct and hip name of what it was i wanted to wear on my feet while riding the bike. they cover my feet and ankles and protect from the heat of the bike and they can be worn with bare feet in summer which my boots (and i have thousands of pairs of boots) cannot, without giving me blisters anyway. so this is my solution. i'm starting a new trend! and did i say i got these on the clearance rack for 15 bucks! you know i love a bargain and i love these! and speaking of trends...i finally finished my mom's belt which i have named "mom's so trendy"and the free pattern, if you want to make one is here! it's a knitted belt that is sort of hippie sort of trendy and i haven't seen one quite as nice as this if i do say so myself! so get yourself a ball of string and knit one for yourself! later...love gay
